Catamount International's participation in Frankfurter Buchmesse 2026 was marked by new opportunities and the strengthening of partnerships focused on a concrete objective: bringing the content of the publishers we represent to Latin America and expanding access to it across the region.
For Catamount, Frankfurt is much more than a meeting point for the publishing industry. It is a space to work directly with publishers and strategic partners, review ongoing projects, and turn conversations into actions that respond to the needs of the different stakeholders in the academic book ecosystem: libraries, researchers, faculty, students, distributors, bookstores, and other organizations involved in the circulation and dissemination of publications in English.
From conversations to concrete projects
One of the main areas of focus during Frankfurt was continuing to move forward, together with Bibliomanager, on our strategic print-on-demand (POD) alliance, an initiative designed to facilitate the availability of academic books in English in Latin America.
This model allows us to bring the catalogs of publishers from the United States, Canada, and Europe closer to the region more efficiently, reducing some of the barriers associated with imports, inventory management, and the availability of specialized titles. Our work with our strategic partner Bibliomanager also makes it possible to keep publications available through POD when demand may be specific but highly relevant to particular academic communities.
Frankfurt also represents a valuable opportunity to meet with our partners and publishers in one place, strengthen relationships, and move forward on shared projects. We would therefore like to especially thank Cambridge University Press & Assessment, Princeton University Press, World Scientific Publishing, and Lynne Rienner Publishers, among other publishers, for joining this initiative to expand the presence of and access to academic books in English in Latin America.
Making a book available is only one part of the process. For Catamount, the real goal is for this content to circulate, be discovered, and reach the readers for whom it was published.
